Aboriginal Economic Development Programs Renewal

CanNor is committed to modernizing its operations and improving efficiency and effectiveness as an organization to help us better serve our clients. We are currently in the process of renewing our Aboriginal Economic Development (AED) programs to ensure that AED programming remains relevant and effective for northern Aboriginal peoples, while supporting economic growth and the needs and opportunities in Canada's North.

To ensure that the renewed AED programs respond to the northern economic development context, economic pressures and opportunities and align with government policies and priorities, CanNor engaged Aboriginal clients, partners, and stakeholders over the summer 2012 to provide feedback on a series of questions. The most recent engagements built upon input already provided by Aboriginal Northerners and other stakeholders in the northern economy, on the need for economic development programs that are tailored for the North.

Information gathered during engagements is used to inform options for consideration and ensure a smooth transition to renewed AED programs, as well as CanNor’s overall activities related to economic development in the North.

You are welcome to continue to provide on-going feedback on CanNor’s programs through email or by contacting your regional CanNor office:
