The Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor) will provide $600,000 over three-years to Actua to deliver science, engineering and technology skills workshops and camps to Northern youth. Actua’s programs will reach an estimated 3,000 youth per year between the ages of 6 and 17, in communities across the three territories.
Actua is a registered Canadian charity which runs science, engineering and technology skills development camps and workshops for youth across Canada, and has been delivering programming in the North for twelve years.

This project will be delivered over three years. The total cost of these camps and workshops is anticipated to be $1,410,000. In addition to CanNor’s contribution, Actua has secured funding from a variety of partners including federal and territorial governments and the private sector.
The investment for this project was made possible through CanNor’s Strategic Investments in Northern Economic Development (SINED) program, which focuses on long-term economic growth, economic diversification and capacity building in all three territories.
SINED is one of several economic development programs within CanNor, which is responsible for coordinating and delivering Canada’s economic development across the North, and for related policy development, research and advocacy.
